JMTC History

Originally known as The John Montgomery Theatre Company, the company was founded in London by the late great actor and producer, Patrick Hillan, who named the company after his father, the late great John Montgomery Hillan, who encouraged Patrick (then called Neil), while all secondary school advisors had much more limited ideas, to attend to the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London - which he did. Patrick’s early vision of the company included ambitious and diverse repertory seasons featuring both classics and original works and the creation of a unique white box theatre in Chelsea where the configuration changed show to show. He fondly nicknamed the company JMTC.

JMTC Theatre is based in NYC and run by Playwright, Director and Artistic Director Suzanne Bachner and Actor, Writer, Monologist and Executive Director Bob Brader.
